Purpose of the page that you are on:
From this page you can manage your photo albums. For each member, 2 photo albums
are created automatically. These are My Auction Photos and My Family Photos. You can
delete these or rename these or do whatever you see fit with them. You can also
create new photo albums, as many as you want.
How do I upload photos from here?
To upload photos, you must select a photo album. Click on an album shown above and
from there you will see a link to Add New Photos.
What's this http://www.photopile.com/photos//etc.. under each photo album?
That is the URL to access the photo album on the Internet. If you click on it,
it will open up a separate page and show you what your photo album will
look like if you were to email it to a friend/family.
How do I create a new album?
Near the top of the page you should see a link titled Create a New Album. Click there
and you will be prompted to give your new album a title and URL.
What are all the things I can do to an album from here?
Besize each photo album, you should see several links in parentheses.
- Rename - This link will take you to a page that will let you
change the name of your photo album. Also, if you want to change the URL
of your photo album, you can do that here. The URL part is, for example,
http://www.photopile.com/photos//auctions. You can change
auctions to something else, like stuffforsell. Basically,
a URL consists of http://www.photopile.com, which is our web address,
or Domain Name. /photos is where all photos
for all members are kept on our website. / is where
all of your photo albums are kept. And in this case, /auctions is the
folder where all of your Auction Photos are stored. If you decide to
change the name of your photo album to something completely different,
you might consider changing the URL to something more appropriate.
- Delete - Delete all photos from album and delete album. Also you
have the option to move your photos to another album before the album is deleted.
- Configure - This link allows you to change the properties of your
photo album. This will change the way it looks when others try to access it. For
instance, you use the Email to a Friend link to send a family member a link
to your photo album, and they click on it. You can use the options in the Configure
screen to control the colors or comments on the album that your family member
will see. Also you can add a password to the photo album. They will
have to enter the password correctly to view the photos in the album.
- Email to a Friend - Enter your friend's or family's email address,
along with a note, and we will email them a link to see your photo album.
You can also email a link to just a single photo by clicking on the Email to Friend
link found beside each photo in your album.
